ULTRASONIC CLEANING

Great for tackling carbon build up and other RESIDUES in older engines and complex components. carbon build up can reduce engine airflow causing running problems.

High frequency sound waves which are radiated through a liquid medium. As sound waves pass through the fluid microscopic bubbles form and grow until they become unstable and cannot support their own density causing them to implode – this is a phenomenon known as cavitation. As these bubbles collapse the surrounding cleaning fluid rushes in to fill the gaps, which creates an action similar to that of a scrubbing brush, but thousands of times per second per cubic centimetre. Ultrasonic has a powerful cleaning action suitable for contaminant removal from complex shapes. The process can be intensified by the addition of cleaning detergent.

Our service:

1. Component strip down, if required.

2. Parts flushed of any major contamination.

3. Fluid solution customised to component requirements.

4. The items are then placed in the ultrasonic cleaning tank.

5. Once the items are cleaned they will be reassembled to your requirements!

VAPOUR/AQUA BLASTING

This finish is easy to keep clean; aluminium will look “fresh out of the mould”, a sought after finish for items such as untreated engine casings.

Vapour blasting (also known as aqua blasting or slurry blasting), is a wet blasting process perfect for cleaning Aluminium, Bronze, Magnesium, Titanium, Brass, Copper, Steel and Stainless. It will gently clean the surface without damage to gasket faces as it is a non-erosive process, even carburettors can be blasted! It produces a very even satin polished finish and gently peens the surface reducing porosity from casting or previous corrosion and relieving surface stresses.

  No impregnation of abrasive media

• Can provide a subtle de-burring effect

• Media and chemical compositions tailored to suit individual needs

• Ideal for any components from engine and gearbox casings to barrels and carbs

• Very effective cleaning procedure with “as new satin finish”, or ideal base for a high polished or the application of protective coatings

Our service:

1. Component strip down, all bearings and other ‘internals’ removed, if required.

2. De-greasing using an industrial hot wash.

3. If parts require stripping of lacquer or paint they will be dipped in a suitable chemical stripper or shot blasted as appropriate.

4. Components are vapour blasted to produce a satin sheen finish, and thoroughly cleaned and dried. Various treatments can be applied to protect finished items in the short term, please let us know if ferrous metals are to be re-coated so that we can avoid applying oil!

Vapour blasting is a multi-stage process requiring a lot of attention to detail but well worth the effort.
